The history of Ornellaia wine began in 1981. Today, it has already become a classic of Italian winemaking. The combination of a good climate, the proximity of the vineyard to the Tyrrhenian coast, and the work of true experts have given birth to an outstanding wine. And a desire to express the exceptional qualities of its land has formed the philosophy of Ornellaia.
Ornellaia is usually made of 50−60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20−25% Merlot, and 15% Cabernet Franc with a bit of Petit Verdot. The wine is aged in French oak barriques for 18 months and then in bottles for another year. The result is a delicious wine with a rich, complex aroma.
