Almost a century and a half ago, in 1868, Francois Leroy acquired land in Burgundy, near Mercsault. His son Joseph, who invested a lot of effort in the development of family winemaking, brought Domain Leroy wines to the list of the best wines of Burgundy. His efforts were rewarded with several major awards and medals at prestigious competitions. In 1919, Henri Leroy enters the family business, which significantly expands production by launching the eau-de-vie production at the Segonzac distillery in the heart of the Grand Champagne region. In 1942, he acquired half of the prestigious Domaine de la Romanee-Conti and devoted 40 years of his life to its development, turning the domain into a real gem of Burgundy.
